The Global Mobility and Immigration Manager is responsible for managing the global mobility program, including the relocation and immigration processes for employees. This role ensures compliance with international regulations, company policies, and supports the overall employee experience during transitions.
Program Management:
- Manage the global and US immigration programs and policies.
- Ensure alignment of immigration strategies with overall business objectives.
- Oversee the end-to-end relocation process, including planning, coordination, and execution.
- Manage the assignee/permanent transfer experience from beginning to end.
- Coordinate internal transfer requirements for international assignments and permanent transfers, such as payroll, benefits, and Workday updates.

Immigration and Compliance:
- Manage immigration processes and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Work closely with external immigration counsel to process visas, work permits, and residency applications.
- Provide guidance on visa processing times, sponsorship requirements, associated risks, and costs for potential candidates.
- Maintain and review visa tracker, ensuring timely initiation and filing of extensions.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in immigration laws and regulations.
- Conduct regular internal audits and support ad-hoc projects as needed.
Employee Support:
- Provide support and guidance to employees and their families during relocation/assignments.
- Address employee concerns and issues related to relocation and immigration.
- Develop and deliver pre-departure orientations for assignees.
- Educate managers and employees on visa and green card application and renewal processes.
- Meet with employees and managers as needed to discuss complex visa situations, options to address impacts to status, green card processes, etc.
Vendor Coordination:
- Partner with relocation vendor to administer domestic transfers and international relocations and assignments, including creation/review of cost projections and relocation/assignment letters.
- Coordinate resolutions to complex mobility and immigration cases with relocation, tax and immigration vendors.
- Work closely with external vendors to ensure exceptional service to employees and maximize cost efficiencies.
Program Expense Reporting:
- Assist with budget planning for the immigration and relocation programs.
- Ensure relocation expenses are allocated to appropriate business segment/business unit/division.
- Monitor expense and reimbursem*nt processes for assignments
Policy Management and Communication:
- Communicate policies and procedures to employees and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners/Talent Acquisition to create and communicate relocation packages, answering questions and resolving issues.
- Field and service visa-related escalations, strategizing resolutions for denials, expediting request needs, or complications in the region.
- Meet with internal stakeholders to proactively get ahead of and understand visa requirements for upcoming projects and business operational needs.
- Implement innovative solutions to enhance visa processing, including by leveraging new technologies for efficient processing and management with vendors, developing templates and guidance documents, etc.
- Ensure consistency and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Develop, update, and implement training as required for HR/Talent Acquisition/Regional Management Teams on best practices and to ensure compliance in each region/country.
Reporting and Analytics:
- Generate reports and analytics to track program performance and identify improvement areas.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.
- Maintain Dashboard of all mobility and immigration activities.
- Oversee invoicing and financial reporting to global finance teams
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with regional and local HR/Talent Acquisition teams to address specific immigration and mobility needs.
- Work closely with HR, Talent Acquisition, legal, finance, to ensure a seamless relocation experience and to determine options for international moves and assignments.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and develop new approaches to streamline and improve processes globally.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key HR and business contacts.
- Work on mergers and acquisitions to review and implement from an Immigration and Global Mobility perspective.
Education & Experience- Minimum Requirements:
- Associates degree
- Minimum Years of Experience Required: Minimum of 7 years of immigration and Global Mobility experience at a global or multinational company.
- Experience managing international relocations, assignments and immigration processes.
- Knowledge of US and Global immigration laws and regulations.
- Project management experience
- Other information (e.g., certification, etc.): Global Mobility Designation
Preferred Requirements:
- 4-year College Degree
- Preferred Years of Experience Required: 5 years
- International HR experience specifically with assignments and interaction with managing assignees
- Experienced managing multiple country domestic relocation programs
- us and global immigration processes and tax compliance experience.
- Other information (e.g., certification, etc.): Certification in Global Mobility or Immigration Law is a plus.

- Strong knowledge of global mobility and immigration laws and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.

- Experience with assignment compensation strategies and benefit programs preferred.
- Good working knowledge of tax, immigration, and social security regulations

Interpersonal Skills- Written and verbal communications:
- With Immigration employees and external immigration vendors and immigration authorities.
- With GPT/Assignees through the E2E process, repatriation etc.
- With applicable HR Partners/BU leaders as applicable (Meetings and written communications)
- Work independently and with regular updates to Sr. Director on progress, ability to determine when to consult with Sr. Director/HRP to review complex situations, provide recommendations for exceptions requiring approvals, budget forecasting and reporting.
